For a band who have not yet reached their first birthday, Guildford alternative rock quintet Cavaliers have achieved an incredible amount. Building up a large following by gigging as much as they can, releasing their first two singles along with official videos for both, earning some rave reviews and hitting the social media hard to get the word out there. Cavalier are here and they want to be heard. The guys met whilst studying in Guildford and found they had a shared love of all aspects of music. Their sound, they say, mixes contemporary rock with late 90's pop punk.
Our featured song and video is the bands second single, 'What I Dream Of' and it is an impressive offering for such a new act. Certainly more contemporary rock than pop punk evident in this one, but it hits all the right spots; an intro that immediately grabs your attention then drops away allowing the impressive vocals to dominate and a chorus that adds just the right amount of emotion (not to mention some cracking riffs towards the end of the track). This release follows their debut single and video 'The Lake' is also well worth checking out.
But it is making a noise live where Cavalier are currently making a real name for themselves. You can catch them on the road in October and November including a show at the O2 Islington on the 29th November and closer to home the day before. More on that soon...
